all that software it lists is free, really no choice to remove it so I will when i get system. I mainly meant the hardware.

yeah i built my last gaming pc but this time around I thought i would go the dell route since I dont plan to OC the system much if at all

8600gt is not a gaming card (9600gt or 3850xt are lowest "gaming" cards) so if you plan on using this you should either have dell switch it before shipping (or drop to lowest end gpu they have and pick up a card separately)

not terrible since it includes an OS and some warranty.

It's coming up a little short on graphics performance and storage for the price though. Plus Q6600 with no OC ...

Any specs on the PSU in case you want to upgrade the graphics?

Since you haven't mentioned what you're going to use the PC for...
CPU - I would have saved some cash and went with the E6650.
LCD - I would have used the CPU savings and bumped up to the 22" E228WFP.
Video - I would have picked either the 2600XT or no video card and bought one from Newegg.
HD - The price difference makes the 500GB a no-brainer over the 250GB.
OS - XP for me, no Vista.

Yeah, these days pre-builts seem to be just fine for everything besides gaming. Console graphics have gotten so good, I'm thinking of just dropping PC gaming altogether *gasp* the only PC game I'm pumped up for is SC2, but from the looks of it SC2 isn't gonna be demanding at all in terms of specs.

I wish you had posted before purchase.

It is difficult to advise much now after purchase except cancel if possible.
It isn't a horrible deal but it is not a great deal either as it is probably worth what you paid but not more and would sell for even less piece meal.

My concerns would be: HD size, memory speed and brand, vid card, psu, case. ---concerns being you can do better in each area without spending much money.

I do not this box as being very upgradeable without gutting it. That would be concern 1 of course.
With the limitations in others areas the cpu is probably overkill by far.

Unless you want to crunch mathematical equations in the background while you look at low res videos off say youtube.

My apologies for this not being more helpful but not sure what to say beyond cancel is possible and follow one of the 800 builds as discussed in these threads.

cpu e4500---100ish
mobo abit ip35-e-70ish
4 gig ddrII-800--80ish
9600GT---150ish
500 GB HDD---100ish
dvd burner for 25 bucks
cases for 50 to 60 bucks
antec eathwatts 500 for 60ish
win xp --?
21" lcd used for 150ish

with shipping and all you might spend 30 or 40 more dollars total but you'd really be is so much better overall shape and could have a nice upgrade path for a a good while yet without breaking the bank.
