Just built this:

AMD 3200+
DFI nf4 SLI-DR
eVGA 6800 GT
Enermax 485W Noisetaker
Geil dual channel 1 gig
XP Pro (legit)

I've got my hard drive dual booted so that I have one partition just for playing games, but it won't let me. First I installed Brothers in Arms and it would get just to the point of starting a campaign and then it would boot me to my desktop - wasn't happy but think too much of it.

Then, I installed Far Cry (wanted to re-play it with the new system and pump up the graphics). Two things then happened 9the first being very peculiar):
  1. The first time you start Far Cry it checks your system and then adjusts the game graphics accordingly. It set mine to low?
I could start the game, but after seconds it would re-boot my machine. If I raised my graphics settings, it would happen even quicker.

It was with the error produced from Far Cry that I was able to look at the minidump file and determine that it was nv4_disp.dll as the culprit.

Everything I have seen on the net points towards the video driver. I have the lastest mobo drivers and video drivers, and I will be able to swap out the video card on Saturday. Until then, any other ideas?

Thanks.
