Personally, I wouldn't have gone with the Raptor. WD's 640GB Caviar is almost as fast, less expensive and much higher capacity. I also wouldn't buy an SLI motherboard if you're only getting one graphics card. I'd go with 2x2GB of RAM instead of 4x1 so that there's room for future expansion if necessary. Lastly, your PSU is larger than you need by 100-150W. You could save some money there if you wanted. $200 is also a very high price for an 8800GT nowadays. You can find GTSs for $210 or less after rebate.

why post AFTER u bought? i hope you posted prior to buying to get all the feedback first...

but yea the FDD is crap, the rosewill case is prob not so good, and the sli mb is crap...

what else i would of changed:
diff ram - crucial has had bad quality for the past year or so
150gb raptor is fast, but pretty expensive, i would've gotten the 640gb or the samsung F1

yeah that's high for that VGA card, I just ordered this fanless version for ~$150 ECS N8800GT-512MX+ GeForce 8800 GT 512MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814134035
A lot of ppl seem to prefer the Qxxxx procs too, I just ordered an E8400 too.
Maybe consider getting two less expensive (and possibly equivalent) vga cards for SLI and keep the mobo PSU combination you have. I'm with DSF on the memory too.

thats generally a very bad idea... everyone is better off getting a single card that suits their performance needs

Two lower-priced cards won't equal the 8800GT.

And that line of Rosewill cases is supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard.

Good comments here! To recap

Change mobo from 750i to P35
Change HDD to either the WD 640 or step up to the 300gb velociraptor
Change the ram from 4x1gb to 2x2gb
Find a cheaper 8800gt, or wait for the new cards in a couple of weeks

And I would recommend the Corsair 520hx power supply

Listen to this advice, its good stuff. In addition I would switch to a samsung burner, just as fast but without the noise.

If you go with the intel board 2x640GB WD's in matrix raid and you will not miss the raptor and have a lot more storage space to boot.

Certain third-party drivers (like for SATA) must be loaded from a floppy disk. I believe this restriction has been removed in Vista. However, I believe flashing the BIOS still requires a floppy disk.

well, sata drivers are already implemented in the current generation motherboards. also, there are softwares that allow you to flash bios without needing a floppy disk.

He may be getting the EVGA model to step up to the new cards when they appear. In that case, the 600+W PSU is a pretty good idea.
