In my old Athlon x2 64-bit system with a Crosshair motherboard and my brand new 8800 GT, Crysis loads and plays just fine. When I put together my new Intel core2 duo system, with the new Gigabyte X38T motherboard (with the 8800 GT), Crysis locks up right after launching, on the very first black splash screen. You can see the intro clip start to play for about half a second, then it freezes.

Bioshock works normally (except I do have issues with the MERC keyboard), and everything else functions normally. I ran a nVidia stability test, which passed without any problems. I'm using the newest 8800GT drivers, and all other drivers and updates have been installed.

Running Vista 64bit.

Would anyone happen to have any suggestions? I'm stumped!

Thanks!

Just the 8800GT is being used from the old system. Every other part is brand new.

Hi
A friend of mine had the same problem, at least with the demo. The solution was to simply run the game in 32 bit mode instead of 64 bit. Since Crysis doesn't provide any performace boosts in 64 bit, you should try it.
