Dont know much about P4 motherboards seeing how i've never built an intel system :Q....BUT, whats the price difference between the 2.4 and 2.66? if its more than like 30$ i'd say it def. isnt worth it....
Ditch the MSI board and get the Abit IS7 which is ony $99 from newegg, it earned gold star award from anand🙂. For the CPU get a 2.4C or 2.6C which are 800MHZ FSB and HT ready. BTW if you plan to overclock that ram will set you back quite a bit. You might wanna get some corsair xms 3200 which are $112 a piece per 512mb.
Thanks for theadvice Lyfer, but i think that i will have to get the MSI board, im getting an amazing price for it, and i am running low on cash at the mo.... 😉
512 will do you fine IF you cant afford 1024, you really only need more if you do heavy/big photo, video editing, and play games like BF1942, Planetside, etc.
If you are on a budget (like seem too), why not go with a AthlonXp2500/Epox 8RDA+ combo (benefit: you can skip that SB Live). Either that or go full P4 (800mhz fsb and pc3200) like Lyfer suggested.
