New system build - recommended CPU? v.SFF

I'm trying to build a new computer and have sold my previous computer already (Intel Pentium 820)

I'm going SFF and was leaning towards the Silverstone Sugo SG-01 case. I want to stay dual-core, but would like to move to AMD. Dual-core is not a huge necessity, but I would like it and future-proof my computer as much as possible.

I have already purchased:
PSU (Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W)
CPU Cooler (Zalman CNPS-7700-Cu)
RAM (Corsair XMS DDR400 2 x 512)

I need to purchase:
Case
CPU
Motherboard

what are your suggestions? Should I stick with my plan and get an Opteron 165? Should I get an Intel Pentium M chip? Just a plain A64 chip?

My uses for my computer:
- ripping movies
- listening to music
- watching movies
- e-mail and other office applications
- programming
- browsing
- occasional games

Thanks

as cheap as possible... since the case is $150, the CPU is $300, and the motherboard is $80, I'm guessing around $550?

edit: but since I plan on keeping this computer for a long time, I can justify additional expenses if need be. But honestly, that $550 figure is pushing it as it is.

well if your looking at ~$300 this should do you quite well... 3800+

or this 3700+ would be a little lower price single-core option.

case this Antec one isnt too bad... good name brand and no PSU so you can use that nice one you already got.

if you want a motherboard you want to be stable and not have to mess around with (not much OCing or anything) get a Gigabyte or an Asus. if you want a nice one to OC with get a DFI LanParty board that fits your needs.

here on anandtech they recently posted their Mid-Range to High-End buyers guide so that may have some good suggestions for you too.
