Hi,
I recently assembled a new system using the following specs:
Geforce 8800GTS 640 MB
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe mainboard
2 GB Corsair XMS DDR 2 Ram
750 Watt Rosewill PSU
320 GB Seagate SATA HD
I keep getting the 1 long, two short beeps from the system speaker, and according to my knowledge of POST, that means there is a video issue. The fact that I can't get video from the monitor during the initial boot essentially tells me the same thing. However, I've tried reseating the card in the PCIX slot, AND I've tried putting it in the other PCIX slot. Even my old 7800 GT gives me the same problem when I try booting the machine up.
Does this indicate bad video slots on the motherboard? I've read a number of complaints regarding the motherboard I bought, so I think it may be a possibility. Anyway, I hope somebody replies in a timely matter, 'cause the deadline for my refund is fast approaching. Thanks.
*edit* It looks like my ram isn't on their stupid "qualified vendors list", so I may have to get a new motherboard anyway. just hope this video issue can be worked around.
