Hooray! I finally got around to benchmarking the new rig. :D Good Lord; Winbench99 takes a L-O-N-G time to run...and half the tests are useless....but anyway, here's the system config and some notes, then benchmarks.

System Config

CPU: Athlon 1800XP
Mobo: Shuttle AV35GTR
Memory: 512mb Micron (Crucial) PC2100 (two 256mb sticks)
Disks: Two Maxtor DM+ 40GB running RAID 0
Video Card: VisionTek GF3
Video Card Driver: 23.11 Dets' straight from NVidia
Soundcard: Creative X-Gamer MP3
OS: W2K SP2 w/all updates

Notes

No overclock on CPU, FSB, Memorybus or Videocard
Only memory tweaks are set to CAS2 in the BIOS and enable 4-way interleave. Left command settings alone b/c I don't know what I'm doing w/those yet.
Norton AV disabled. MBM5 disabled.

If I knew how to run the Serious Sam benchmark, I'd have done that too. I'm very happy with my new rig. It's much faster than my old 1GHz Athlon B/KT7R setup. Please let me know what you think. Thanks! :)

Oh, that´s a system (an AMD, the only one). I really would like to have the money to buy such things... but i wouldn´t like to live in EEUU.

His 3DMark score are just fine. For a totally stock setup without any tweaking, that is good.

What does EEUU mean?

That's what I'd like to know.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments! I sure waited long enough to go DDR

I"ve wondered how much performance I'd gain my tweaking those "Command Timing Memory Settings" in the Bios...anyone know?

Congrats on your new setup :)

Now go get yourself Wolfenstein or Medal Of Honor and start enjoying that new power :)

MCS, my buddy! Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I already have both. I can't get past the Omaha beach scene. :( I'm at the final battle of RTCW and can't beat that either. I suck. LOL!:D

My new setup:

P4 1.6A @ 2.4
P4B266
256 MB PC2100 generic ram (Infineon chips)
VisionTek Geforce3 Ti200 (220/500 - using coolbits)
Windows XP Pro
Detonator 21.83 (windows update)

I get 8033 in 3DMark2001SE. Default benchmark. Haven't changed any settings other than CPU and vid overclock.

Hehe, I am the other way round, I have hardly got anywhere with RTCW but I have completed MOH! I thought MOH was the better game but both look great :)

Ah, OK. Thanks, ScoobyDooby. I guess he's just jealous...I work two jobs to support my PC habit. I wonder if he knows that? Oh well, my life is not severely affected by his comment. :p

Thanx Z24. I was going to try the Intel 1.6a@2.4 with GF3, but from your results I needn't bother! ;)

K7S5A + XP1700@1.53 + R8500@290 = 8557 at default. :D

tenoc, I would venture a guess that our scores are videocard related. I got huge increases in my scores when I bumped the videocard speed. 175/400 (default) - 6774, 200/460 - 7557, 220/500 - 8033.

How does a Radeon 8500 compare to a GF3 typically?
