After much debating this is the equipment in my box now. It's built from scratch, all new parts.

Coolermaster Centurion case.
xClio Goodpower 500 watt.
Intel DP965LT mainboard.
E6400 Core2Duo
Gigabyte 8800GTS
2 x 1GB g.Skill DDR2 800MHz
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB hdd

With a fresh coat of XP-Pro applied the first thing I did was to install and run 3DMark06. This is with no overclocking whatsoever. (Not that I can on this mainboard anyway but I can bump the vid card up obviously.)

Score: 8687

Does this seem in the ballpark? I've been out of the game for six months.

i have e6400 ds3 and 800gts with 1 gig
score = 8065
you scored higher than me, wonder if the 1 gig has something to do with it

You can actually check the futuremark site itself to see if your scores are where they should be.

Looking at the scores myself, it seems that you actually do better than most.
