Hey guys, I'm about to order my new system (with exception to graphics card) tomorrow or Saturday.

Anyways, here are the parts -

ASUS A8N-SLI Premium (I currently have an ASUS motherboard that has been running rock solid for four years, so I tend to stick to them)
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego or should I get the new X2 3800?
OCZ 2GB PC3200 EL Platinum 2x1GB
XP-90
Panaflo L1A 92mm Fan

to be paried with a 7800GTX in late September.

The primary games that I play are BF2 and Rome Total War.
I've already got my 74GB Raptor HDD, Antec TP 2.0 550w PSU, Tt Tsunami, and LiteOn DVD/CDRW Combo.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

For what reasons? Wouldn't that essentially mean that my games would be running on one 3200+ processor? I exit all of my background apps anyway.

I'm not going to go with MSI. Everyone who I know (as in people who I actually work with/ go to school with, not AT members) say stay away from MSI.

Thanks, for the suggestion though.

So X2 3800+>3700+ in gaming?

you answered your own question.

Athlon XP 3700+ SD > Athlon X2 XP 3800+ if you want to do ONLY gaming. X2 is the better future proof CPU.

Then why ask AT about system recommendations? Ask your friends then.

3700+ > X2 3800+ in Gaming until multi threaded games come out..

Yeah, gaming is my main thing, aside from AIM and music. Plus it's about $100 cheaper.

Well MSI and ASUS are not the only two mobo manufacturers...I just said I wasn't going with MSI, that's all. If someone had recommended, for example a Gigabyte board, I wouldn't have the same response as I did with the MSI suggestion.
