I am not a gamer. I will use this most dayes to surf the web to op and download files, to chat to 10-20 persons on IRC and photoshop tweaking of pictures.
Burning DVDs and CDs.

I reads the thread on this abit p35-E board and am impressed enough to want to get it.
So hard to remember what all said because not till the end did I decide to get the board.

But I do have an Antec Blue 480 Watt power supply, is that ok with this board?
I will need to get some Dual DDR2 800
do I need more than 2 gig?
and what speciffic ones to get, so much on sale so many prices... so many makes
And from whom to get it.

I recall it mentioned that there was a better than Zalman cooler for less money, but cannot recall where in that huge threaed it was.
What coolers do you recommand for me? And who sells it for a decent price.

I want to get a Raptor Hard drive near 70gig to speed up my booting up. Which to get? and from whom?

I will in the future want an HDTV digital card
Which video card will support it and not be an over kill for my use.
is there a HDTV card now that is decent so I can watch Digital TV on the computer from cable or satalite.?

Is an old case where I have a pentium 4 1.4 with all sorts of problems, ATX, be a good place to house it? if not what do you recommand?

honestly, with what you do, why would you want to build this type of machine, seems overkill. But I'll still answer from what I'll be building myself and maybe you can see what direction I'll be going. Unlike you, I am a gamer and do more than just chat and burn cd/dvd. Video compression is what made me look into quad. I'm building myself a similar rig. I'm building off of a Q6600 like you however I'm going with the Asus P5K-E board instead.

480W should be enough, guess it depends what you start to add on to your rig.

I'll be getting the Crucial Ballistix DDR 800. I keep reading many good things about it.
I'll be staying with 2 gigs for now. Possibly go for 2 more later, or maybe wait for DDR3... you won't need more than that for what you'll be doing.

You can see in my sig I have a Zalman, its beautiful!

what kind of Raptor? I thought there was only 1 type? (i've never own a raptor in my life, hehe)

IN regards to cases... personally I have a Lian case. These are awesome cases.

honestly, with what you do, why would you want to build this type of machine, seems overkill.

I assumed it was the best for the money, I read that the E 6750 does not compare to it.
I have currently an Athlon 2.2 ghz 3200 and the booting takes close to 2 minutes with one gig of ram and an E/IDE 260gig dive l was told that I will get 4tmes the speed with the quad if I also get s good power supply, a great cooler for the CPU and a Raptor Hard drive. This board I am getting does not support Raid. Not that I want Raid.

I Am going on what I read here at anandtech forum and what I was told verbally on the yahoo windows voice chat.

What system would you upgrade to if you were in my place? If you do not mind...

there's only 1 Raptor ~70Gb & that's the 74GB.
Tbh it seems a bit of an extravagance to me as it's a lot dearer than an 80GB SATA300 drive - in fact you can get a single 500Gb drive or 2 80Gbs in RAID 0 for less.
