Hello, I'm getting ready to make the dive into upgrading my current system to a newer one. This is what I am planning on getting and doing. Any pointers on this would be nice.
MB: Abit BE6-II
CPU: P3-700E cb0 (I've heard of a place called Onvia that supposedly ships pretty much all cb0 stepping CPU's) OC'd to 933 I hope...
RAM: 128MB Corsair PC-133 RAM
HD: IBM Deskstar 75GXP (45GB model)
The remaining components are my current sound card (Diamond Monster Sound MX-300)
an Adaptec AHA-2930CU SCSI card (for my CD-ROM and CD-RW)
D-Link 10/100MB PCI E-net Card (forget the model # right now)
My question is, would it be better to get a socket CPU and use a slotkey adapter or get a Slot CPU? Also do I need cooling if I'm going to OC it? I've heard the CPU OC's to 933 fairly easily. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
