I could barely finish Sharknado even knowing it would be ridiculous. The two main stars were paid a whopping $50k for their roles (90210 guy and Tara Reid).

Syfy is really dredging the depths with this type of trash. It is no wonder their ratings are falling. The occasional dumb movie is ok for grins but most of the stuff--maybe even all--on syfy is junk.

Sharnado was so intentionally bad that it was enjoyable to watch. This movie also looks bad, but not in a good way.

Yeah I think they are over doing it with the crappy 'B movie' stick.

I dont get it. I bet any one of us here can come up with a better movie than the majority of SyFy movies, and can probably do a better job of acting in them as well.

So how the fuck do SyFy movies have such epic fail? Do they try hard to make terrible movies?

That's the only explanation I can come up with. That or it's minimum wage high school dropouts given a bunch of equipment and stock footage, and told to "make some movies."

Has anyone watched a few that are Netflix. They put some skin in a few of them and edit for TV. I was surprised the first time I watched a few of them.

Also, did anyone watch the Dune and Children of Dune. Sometimes they do get it right, other times, its a conversation piece.

NEW SYFY MOVIE! WE JUMPED THE SHARK!

This is the movie I REALLY want to see. The riveting story of the drunken SciFi suits at a strip club doing jello shots off a strippers ass, while they come up with the catchy name SyFy to be WAY cooler AND show WRESTLING instead of real Sci-Fi!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark

"Jumping the shark is an idiom created by Jon Hein that was used to describe the moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality that is beyond recovery, which is usually a particular scene, episode, or aspect of a show in which the writers use some type of "gimmick" in a desperate attempt to keep viewers' interest.
In its initial usage, it referred to the point in a television program's history when the program had outlived its freshness and viewers had begun to feel that the show's writers were out of new ideas, often after great effort was made to revive interest in the show by the writers, producers, or network.
The usage of "jump the shark" has subsequently broadened beyond television, indicating the moment when a brand, design, or creative effort's evolution loses the essential qualities that initially defined its success and declines, ultimately, into irrelevance."

Wasn't it a woman, Bonnie Hammer, who changed the name and turned the channel stupid?

I guess it's still possible she was doing jello shots of a strippers ass, but I tend to doubt it.

I already thought about this female conundrum, and yes, Chippendale's counts as a stripper club, too.

Pretty sure the channel turned stupid long before they changed their name to suit.

Actually, they added wrestling first then changed their name shortly after that as I recall, within a few months. So maybe MULTIPLE stripper parties at CHIPPENDALE's happened around that time frame.

And after it went downhill to that extreme, I finally maned up and cancelled Dish. And I haven't missed it since. I can see all I want to online or on Netflix or BB without all the annoying commercials.
