I've got to write a "bill" for a model congress session tomorrow. However, my government teacher specified that the bill['s subject must be somewhat original (i.e. No war in Iraq/gay marriage/drinking age/driving age/etc bills). Thus I decided to go with something I heard on 20/20 a few months ago, specifically about cheaper surgery outside the US. Apparently there are surgical procedures currently not approved for use in the US that have been proven to work and have been approved for use in other countries (i.e. Thiland, India). Thus one could travel to another country, get excellant medical treatment for 1/4 of the cost (they couldn't have got it in the US), and come back to the US. So my bill would be proposing reform to the surgical procedure approval process so as to streamline it more. However, I have been unable to find any info regarding the specifics of this procedure. Anyone have any info?
Cliffs: Need info on US "New Surgical Procedure Approval Process" for a model congress "bill" tomorrow. Searched for an hour, and found sqat.
