A few days ago, I posted a query in the Gadgets Forum, and got no response. So, I pulled the trigger and got one to evaluate. It is the Kingston W-Drive. In this case, a 128GB model. Basically, it is a 126GB in a very slick case that also has a W-Fi transmiotter/receiver. This makes it able to link to most smartphones and tablets, be they Android or IOS.

Here it is:

It passed all the initial tests, linked easily to my phone and my tablet. I downloaded the Wi-Drive app (free) and next, I'll be learning how to use it. I see a very usefui application when on a trip - tablet plus this can store a potload of pictures from my digicam.

I debated where to put this thread - it is a storage device - no argument there. But, it is also very much a gadget! 🙂

I just posted about my intention to order a Corsair Voyager Air. The think ilike about it is that it can be taken apart and I can put an SSD into it later on when the prices come down a bit more.

So this will work as disk storage linked to an iPhone? Can it be used to side load files to it?

It connects easily by the USB cable to a laptop, and files can be on and off loaded. The wireless app (free) can be downloaded via iTunes or Google or Amazon, and it also lets you share those files.

I have linked to T510 with no problem, and to my Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I am still in the learning process.

I've always wanted one of these as it can serve as a bridge to transfer data to/from my Android(Nexus 4) and iOS(iPod Touch 4) device, while also serving as extended storage as the devices I own have no expandable memory. Kingston or Seagate, I'd probably veer more towards the one that has better app support.
