New STI pics

It looks good, but far from elegant. I'd still go for a Maxima, TSX, or G35 just because I value the quality of interior, reliability, and refinement more than all out power.

I still like the 96-01 STI or 2.5RS better.. yea, the older sti is not for sell in here..
elegant? I will take a BMW then... you can't compare a power rally car to a luxury car 🙂 🙂.. it's like comparing a Supra to a Lexus sc400..

I can and I just did. 😉

i saw one today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In ann arbor, michigan i was driving on geddes, heading east (it was outside ann arbor) and one of these bizzles just flew by me in the opposite direction. Im positive it was an sti, those headlights and hoodscoop are hard to miss.

I don't get it, people bash rice all the time, yet when a carmaker gives us a car riced out from the factory, it's OK? Rice is rice, and Subaru riced out the WRX to hell. There is no way that wing and hood scoop are needed to achieve the performance it gets. Sure it has some grunt behind the fugly, with a 300hp engine, but it's still riced out. It's like pointing at a riced out civic, making fun of it ... and then saying OH, it looks AWESOME because it has a 200-300hp engine (if they did some mods or new engine or whatever). Stupid. ugly is ugly, rice is rice.

Now, gimme a nice Legacy GT or RS with a nice set of wheels and simple nice black paint.. oh yeah 😎

scoops = can look cool but Subaru is really overdoing em now (I hope it's at least functional)
wings = absolutely ridiculous on 99% of cars especially for any car intended for daily-driver use (definitely NOT functional for daily-driving)

im willing to bet that subaru wind tunnel tested that wing to add downforce when cornering....and as for the hoodscoop, theres in intercooler below it and im willing to bet that at the psi theyre running the sti at, the hoodscoop is very necessary

you mean like mitsubishi?

that wing is okay, that hood scoop is hideous

i dont think they "riced" it out. Cars like this were the norm, and "rice" came from the people buying the lesser models and trying to make them look like the good ones.

The scoop is a necessity. Its a 4 cyclinder engine producing the power of an 8 cylinder engine. Think they might want a little extra air flow?

it has the wing because of the speeds it can reach stock. and the hood scoop is functional. Rice is when you just mod a car for looks. The STi is NOT rice.

I have a feeling you will be flamed to hell.

I think you are unaware of the definition of rice. Rice is making your car look fast when it's not. The car is FAR from rice, and it has more balls than most sports cars on the market. The hood scoop is also a necessity on the STi. Like it or not, you cannot bring this car down by calling it rice.

Since the car has balls it's not rice. It may be ugly to some though.

If the same scoop and spoiler were on a car with no balls then it would be both rice and ugly.

LOL how can the hood scoop be overdone if you need it on the car? Can you think of an easier way to get air to the top mount intercooler?

I will take an Lancer Evo 8 over the STI anyday...
no rice for wrx sti.. think of rice? civic with big @ss alumium wing + loud exhaust with only 120 hp 🙂

They could have done the scoop differently. Think Camaro SS style.

Either way that car is badass otherwise.

you can make it look a little better than that y'know

words cannot describe how ugly that thing is

you can run that thing with no hood for extra flow, doesn't mean it's a good freaking idea!
