New Steam broken?

I can't play any Steam games. My computer hasn't changed but I have that new Steam interface and it always hangs on the box that tries and loads my game. Is this a known problem or am I SOL?
 
I can tell you the NEW steam hates TFC2 players.. Mine crashs alot on exit of a game and then Hangs steam... lots of discussion in the official boards on it.
