When GSC Game World's long-in-development first-person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was released earlier this year, reviewers praised its immersive atmosphere. In the game's alternate universe, the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl suffered a second meltdown, with the resulting radioactivity leaving the area around it a mutant-infested wasteland. One wouldn't want to live there, and it's not even a particularly nice place to visit.
Despite that, GSC Game World has plans to return to the setting of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Kiev, Ukraine-based developer today confirmed that it is working on several new projects in that game's universe. As for more details, GSC said it would be holding them back until this year's E3 Media and Business Summit, set for July in Santa Monica, California.
