I'm just wondering how to take advantage of this Best Buy deal. I have a 2 year service plan that is for replacing broken phones. Is that the same thing that you guys have used? What did you do, tell BB that your old phone was broken and they gave you credit towards a new phone? Let me know how I can get in on this best buy deal, I DO have a service plan! :)

Pizza Dude - That's pretty much how it goes. Unfortunately BB can be a pain to do this ass. I have the CC plan and basically the manager explicitly said to me that I can come back to me for WHATEVER reason while under the performance garuntee.

another note on the sanyo 8100 is that if you order from radio shack over the phone at 1-800-THE-SHACK you can get free ground shipping instead of the $15 standard (ground) shipping if ordered online. if you end up not liking the phone for some reason, you have 30 days to return it to a local b&m shack.

I'm really tempted to get this phone. never had a cell phone myself, but have gotten several for my wife over the last few years and even got one yesterday for my niece. I think it's about time to get one for myself...

Actually the 8100 is supposed to be REALLY loud, so this would be perfect for you. It doesn't have a speakerphone but it has been said you can use it as one because it's so loud.

The 8100 is definitely loud. Of the possible 1-5 volume settings...I have it set at 2. However, if you are REALLY hard of hearing, you might consider the Samsung A500 (or possibly wait for the A600). I used to have the A500 and lemme tell yah, it is LOUD. In fact at the highest volume setting, you can hear a person clearly without even putting your ear up to the phone. If this is very important to you, I will have to say that the A500 is a lot louder.
