I've got the $150 credit towards a new phone and the itch to buy one with better camera than my crappy sanyo 8100. anyone have some inside info? I cant seem to find any info from sprint and the sprint store people were less than helpful.

I own the Toshiba/Audiovox. It has by far, still the best screen on a flip phone in the US Camera market. Even the newer, more expensive Sprint phones can't touch this. For the screen alone, I'm holding off on trading in my phone for a better one. Anyways, if you want first hand experiences and reviews, go to www.sprintusers.com or www.howardforums.com and check out their forums
 
I have a Samsung A680.

I love the phone, but cant comment on the camera aspect of it. I do have quite a collection of pictures of the inside of my pocket. The camera part is easily ativated if yousit down with the camera in your pocket.
 
You didn't hear this from me.... 🙂 There a about four phones coming out before christmas. The one you want out of these four is The Audiovox 6600. Don't get the Treo 650, its not that great. Also the Sanyo 7400 is coming out in the next few weeks and thats a REALLY nice phone it has streaming video, basically you can pay like 4 bucks a month and stream espn to your phone its VERY cool. There's one more xmas phone coming out, LG 325, but this phone sucks.
 
The LG325 is only good 'cause it has bluetooth. Actually, the Treo 650 has it too. At any rate, if you're buying a camera phone for picture quality you'll still have to wait a while. While there are 2mp+ phones out in Japan it'll still be a while before anything makes it state side I think.

At any rate I'm quite satisfied with my VM4500. I paid retail for it (I upgraded too soon) but eh, wth. The pic quality on that is definitely better then the 8100 though.
 
im not buying for super pic quality, my sanyo 8100 just has terrible quality pics, when i send them to friends and family, its hard to tell wtf is going on. thats all, and i would like one that is a little bit smaller. this one is hard to fit in my pocket. i'm one of those, always wanting the newest and best in technology people. ok back to studying. thanks for all the replies people.

Hmm, the 8100 is pretty small I would say. Its certainly smaller then the 4500 (which was in turn smaller then Sanyo 5300 that I had before).

BTW, the LG 325 is already advertised by Radio Shack.
 
yeah if you browse the sprintusers forum's you'll see a billion posts made by people that work for Sprint or have inside information about them. It's not like it's industrial espionage or anything. Small phone + good camera = not available yet.

Actually, ppl can and do get fired over leaking information like that. Just depends to what extent😉

iirc, there was someone on Sprintusers that lost his job because of all the inside info he provided. But usually people aren't stupid enough to leak information when they're easily traced heh. Keyword... usually 😀

 
I'm still plugging along on my Samsung SPH-I330. That Treo 650 looks really nice but I have no doubt even after the $150 upgrade credit I'd be looking at well over $500 for it.

Did you actually play around with the T650 for a while ?
