New speculation of an Israeli attack on Iran.

I speculate that if a frog had no hind legs he would bump his butt off. I don't wish that to be taken as anything but my reluctance to get into this topic. I don't feel there is much one way or the other I can do about this.

No way, Israel don't have the balls to do it without US/NATO seal of approval. The only thing we'll hear about Iran before the elections is more and more FUD, like Iraq's WMD.

Oooooooh, higher oil prices. That would be a great thing for the USA. Even more so if many of the oil facilities of the middle east are destroyed.

Excellent!

Now all we need is a Chief Executive with great business experience to take advantage of this situation in the White House come noon, 20 JAN 2013. Things are looking up.

Bad link...

It worked until yahoo news took it off their page a few hours or so ago.

Often in such cases, featured articles have a very limited life span. Gotta read them quick while the grabbing is still good.

Speculations as always. If they going to attack them, Israel and the US (via Nato) wouldn't warn them about that.

I see this more like a message (one more message) for Iran don't do what they wanna (and they going to) do.

Iran is expanding its facilities to uranium enrichment and that's why Israel is so worried about.

According to this:

New cascades of centrifuges are being installed at Iran’s Fordo nuclear underground facility raising the total to 3,000 machines. All the 800 machines operating at present are devoted to the 20-percent refinement of uranium, a grade just short of bomb material. This was disclosed by Western diplomatic sources Thursday, May 17, at the same time as Washington sources reported that the Obama administration had consented to Iran producing low-grade 5-percent enriched uranium in their secret direct dialogue.

The US part sends the message:

US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro said in Tel Aviv Wednesday the West and Israel are exerting pressure on Iran to stop uranium enrichment. “It would be preferable to resolve this diplomatically than to use military force,” he said, adding; “But that doesn’t mean the option is not fully available – not just available but it’s ready. The necessary planning has been done to ensure that it’s ready.”

This.

And they are tired of knowing that. And that's why Israel and the US are not going to do anything, especially this year. Next year, maybe? Who knows.

You don't understand but then I'm not surprised.

I don't want our troops envolved in a war. I want all of our troops out of the middle east.

Haliburton? This has little to do with one company. It does have to do with radical idiots all over the middle east. The USA has more recoverable gas and oil than all of the middle east, a number of times over. If the middle east countries and various religions want to kill each other off, I really don't care. The USA could more than supply itself with all our own energy needs and then sell our excess energy output at a greatly marked up price to the rest of the world. In but a few years the USA, instead of sending $400 to $500 billion a year to people that want to kill us, we could be bringing in over a trillion dollars a year to this economy.

That to me would be wonderful.

What's not to like?

Iran has zero intentions of ever developing nuclear weapons. They know that the Military State of Israel is too tough to allow them to have anything other than poverty so they know not to bother.

The sanctions are being tightened up because the U.S. hopes it will make them somehow attack us as a backdoor way to war with China and/or Russia.

It's kind of like what FDR did with Japan. Hitler was smart enough to not take the bait, but FDR forced Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor. However, this time, I think Russia (or China) will probably attack us on Iran's behalf as I don't see how Iran could attack us. The Cold War never really ended, as Russia and the U.S. hate each other as much as ever before.

So your contention is that all these countries want to self immolate in a most horrid way. Interesting. So when they all die what do they do next?

Edit- Lets look at this a bit more.
"Iran has no intentions". Why? Because Israel will only let them have poverty? It's Iran, not Zimbabwe. They don't eat dirt.

"Backdoor way to war." Why? Because we want a war with Russia? That makes no sense.

Analogy time. You want to kill someone and dying in the process is acceptable. You have a gun in your pocket and hes in front of you on a busy street. People will see. Thats ok. So you pick up a cell phone and hire a blimp that tows a sign overhead saying the martians have landed. At the same time you call in a false fire and engines pull up. Hire barking seals. When they all get there you shoot him and he shoots back and you both die. Well yeah it worked. Then on the other hand you could just pull out your gun and both shoot. Why the melodrama? If we're intent on killing each other just launch.

Do you not realize China owns a lot of the U.S. debt? They could just cut the U.S. gov's credit card off and then our planes wouldn't have any gas. Sure we have the most powerful arsenal in the world, but since the U.S. is borrowing from them rather than viceversa, we're not in any position to make an enemy out of them.

Even if the U.S. were to win another world war, it wouldn't survive much longer past declaration of victory... the U.S. govt's debt would not be repayable without hyperinflation or unless it raised taxes through the roof on its citizens.

Treasury Bonds vs. Cruise Missiles... I wonder who will win 😀

And we have a special issue Ben Bernake Platinum card, no worries.

Or we looted all the countries we beat

The USA finds itself once more in the catbird's seat.

We have the military, the economic base and all the energy we could ever need.

As the middle east goes to war, their oil will be taken from the world market and ours will be there to be sold at a premium price.

As the economic crisis in the EU gets worse the wealth there will move to safer shores. That will be the USA. We welcome their money.

The Chinese will be short of oil due to the wars in the middle east and we will have all we can use and then some. We will give them the choice of our money or oil. They will choose oil. Without our Navy to protect their sea lanes of communications they will be in an oil crisis with in 6 months.

I just love it when a plan comes together.

All we need for the USA to once again be that shinning city on the hill is new leadership in the White House.

Come on 6 NOV 2012!

The US would then dismiss our debt to China and close our markets to their goods. China's economy would crumble quickly while other nations would leap at the chance of replacing the missing goods.
