this is close to my ideal laptop:
> nVidia graphics (good for linux)
> intel chipset (well it ain't nVidia, but i prefer it to Via/SIS/ATI)
> 13.3" widescreen
> portable
> magnesium body

but, it uses the new PCI-E mobile chipset which as far as i'm aware is a derivitive of the 915 desktop chipset, right?
which if i remember correctly, is a load of pants with the 6200 turbo-cache because Intel farked up the PCI-E spec by making it 4GB upstream + 1GB downstream instead of 4GB full duplex, and as we all know turbo-cache requires masses of bandwidth.

so am i getting worried over nothing, have Intel fixed the PCI-E for the new mobile chipset, or is graphics power of this chip going to be retarded by poor Intel chipsets?

Poor intel chipsets, yet you want that over other brands?

Sony can't help but overprice everything, so it's not even on the radar for most enthusiasts. Look back in two days and you won't be able to find any brand that doesn't have the same type of specs.

my point being that the 6200 turbo-cache requires a proper PCI-E implementation, which the 915 is not, therefore its power is crippled.

i am looking for a ultra-portable with a 13" widescreen capable of 1280x800, that i intend to put linux on, therefore i would prefer nVidia components.

can anyone confirm that the new Intel Mobile PCI-E chipset is now properly capable of full duplex bandwidth (4GB up + 4GB down).

if it can't do that then the new intel chipset is a very poor choice to pair with the new nVidia vic-chip.
