I am configuring a new Soltek EQ3401M barebones system Soltek SL-B8E-F MoBo, Springdale chipset), using Mushkin RAM (2 pieces of 1GB PC3200 DDR) and have run into a problem.
When I power up, all fans and LEDs start to work, but nothing else at all happens -- no system beeps, no caps-lock-light flash on the keyboard, no booting messages or bios info onscreen. It does the same thing whether I
use the onboard graphics or whether I install graphics in the 8x AGP slot (ASUS Radeon 5800 XT). Resetting the CMOS via the jumper doesn't help either. Someone suggested (from experience) that it could be the wrong setting on PS (230V rather than 115), but I can find no switch anywhere on the PS. (Would I have to dissassemble the PS?)
I'm trying to diagnose this: seems to me like a bad CPU or bad motherboard. But I can't tell which and I wonder if it could be a problem between this MoBo and the 2 x 1GB PC3200 RAM? Mushkin has this to say about use of 1GB DIMMs: http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushk...f004c8f14273fc0a801020641/Product/View/990925
These are the DIMMs:

Can anyone shed any light on this?
Does the complete lack of any POST beep imply what is broken?
For reference, I installed in the system:
Intel P4 3.2C with Intel fan
2x1GB Mushkin PC3200 DDR400
2x160GB Seagate SATA HD
Sony 8x DVD+/-RW
Atech 9-in-1 internal Flash card reader in 3.5" external bay
ASUS Radeon 5800 XT (or onboard Intel graphics, tried both ways)
Thanks for any help!
