This is insane!! I was checking out a local PC shop and the price for a Intel Penium 4 2.0 GHz (Socket 478) is $964.99 CDN :Q :Q :Q
Seriously.. what's up with that... damn.

I can't get over this, it's just plain crazy

Don't buy one now then.
If you can have patience for a couple weeks, it'll be half that. At least it better be, or the borders are gonna get much buiser with people importing those babies from the US. :)

I read somewhere that 80% of the Candian population lives with 100 miles of the US....AND....50% of canadians werent even born there.

I have no intention of buying one ever, I'm an AMD fan :)

But seriously though, with a release of $1000, it just boggles the mind, it really does.

Keep in mind the local PC shops generally charge a lot more...at least the ones around me do! Haha...actually, no, that's not funny at all. :( (NOTE: I'm in the USA)

Thats at pccanada right? Their 1.5 ghz is $299 = ~$200 US, whereas in the US you can get that chip for about $130 or so. Thats not right. I could have sworn that last week the 1.5 ghz P4 was like $264. YES IT WAS. I remember. Why the hell did their prices go up? NCIX.com has the same CPU for $253.

EDIT: Oops, thats 478 for ya! The other one, 423, is cheaper.
