Why do i have this suspicion that this episode is where lex goes totally bad.
my favorite dynamic in this whole series is the Lex and his envy of clarks family life. and lex asks clarks parents to stand in for his parents. lana will be at the wedding.
i dont' know, i have a feeling that this is where it all comes to a head and lex finally goes bad.![]()

I hope to see Lex stay good as long as possible. Deep down he is really a good person -- if only Clark opened up and trusted Lex from the beginning. This dynamic sort of reminds me of Babylon5 where Londo was headed towards a dark path -- and yet I felt he was a good person.

That's naive... you think he turns bad because Clark didn't tell him his secret? No, he'll turn evil because of power. If Clark had told him his secret, he would have tried to exploit it.

Lex basically has no friends -- I think that Clark's friendship would have saved Lex.

He does have Clark's friendship...
i agree, but you have to admit there is something really really intriguing of a guy who turns bad for all the right reasons.

But Clark doesn't trust Lex enough to share his secret like he does with Pete Ross. But from every episode that I've seen, Lex has never betrayed Clark.

So shouldn't that make him rebel and be good? he's an adult now, you really think his father has that much influence?
He's been prying into Clark's secret before his father really got involved with Clark. He's turning bad for his own reasons... for power. It has nothing to do with his father... infact he's fighting with his father to discover the secret first.

So? Since he doesn't share his secret with Lana, does that mean he's not friends with her? Before he shared his secret with Pete, does that mean he wasn't friends with Pete?
Like i said, you're really naive if you think he turns bad just because Clark doesn't share his secret with Lex or that he doesn't have any real friends.

In the past, Lex has said that he feels that Clark is his only true friend. In a lot of the episodes, Lex will sometimes ask Clark if he there is something that he wants to tell him (as if Lex suspects that Clark is hiding something from him). Meanwhile, Lex has done nothing to betray his friendship with Clark while Clark's family (and Clark himself) has openly questioned Lex's intentions.
I believe that Lex's father is the reason he will turn bad but I think that Clark's friendship would have saved him. In the end, Lex will feel like he has no friends.
