2007-11-08 - My full review of the KL01B is now posted at TechIMO:
http://www.techimo.com/articles/index.pl?photo=296 - Enjoy!

Update: The Kublai series is out in the channel and a typical price on the KL01 is around $135.00. After examining one, I'd say the price is justified. ..bh.

Hello all,

Silverstone has added a new series of cases, the Kublai, with two models so far: the KL01 and the KL02. Here is the link to the info: http://www.silverstonetek.com/...enclosure.php?area=usa - so far, I've not seen these for sale anywhere. The chassis they are based on doesn't seem to be one I've seen before - if you know of another brand/model based on the same design, please let us know. This just in - since these are "stacker" type cases with lots of 5" bays and use bay adapters for the HDDs and floppy-type devices, I went back and looked at the similar cases out there an it turns out that these and the Xion "Stacker" are similar. Silverstone looks like they did their own HDD cage (which looks similar to the CM stacker cage and their own CFP51 but w/o the decorative bezel) that holds 4 HDDs while the Xion cage holds only 3. Of course the appearance is different and the finish quality of the heavy Aluminum bezel should be what we are used to from Silverstone - the rest of the case is of SECC steel.

While the TJ10 is a variant of the excellent TJ09 and here's the link to it: http://www.silverstonetek.com/....php?pno=tj10&area=usa - the most obvious difference is the front door. This one is available now but the price is not for the faint of heart or thin of wallet (just like its older brother) with the best price I've seen at $300...

Enjoy,

.bh.

In my opinion cases this tall should be wider, 207mm is standard. Only Akasa so far has made cases that are 240mm wide. It's not just that tall coolers are getting hard to fit but air circulation is being limited.

The TJ10 should actually have been called the TJ09A...

Besides that, I think you answered your own question... :D

Have a nice day!

I agree, I find it funny the SS just slapped on a door and called it a new case.

lol great review zep.

Im kinda intereted in the shogo at the moment. I think i could make one hell of an awesome watercooled mid tower out of it.

I was also going to consider the kublai, however i got the cm690 for hella cheap.

But great review!
