New Shuttle x27 ~ even mini-er than usual

The Shuttle x27 is starting to show up in dealer inventories. Extra small, even for Shuttle, as it uses an external power supply and the newish Atom cpu integrated with the mobo.

Weird timing, though, as the new Atom Dual Core CPU/Mobo combos are also hitting the market this week. Those are priced at $99 for the Atom Dual CPU and Intel motherboard combo, and this Shuttle looks to be just the single cpu. Since the single processor/board combo is about $70, the Shuttle case adds $120. . .

now that i've seen larger pictures of it, it looks pretty generic. i'd much prefer something like their x series (which also includes an optical drive) http://reviews.cnet.com/deskto...5-3118_7-32314221.html
