so, i get my new cpu...YAY, new mobo has been waiting with new memory.

Upon power up, it attempts to come on, MB red light indicator is on...push power button, fans spin for aprrox .5 seconds, and the shuts down, after a 2 second interval, it does the same thing, over and over...I have reset CMOS, changed memory, pull vid card, detached all devices...etc.

Think I may have a bad mobo...

Installation is out of the case, on top of mobo box, only thing different is that I am using a zalman 7700 cpu cooler, i bought the bracket to it would fit. Unfortunately this is not the pro version so I have no diagnostic LED...it wont post fully so... I am not sure of anything. This is first INTEL build in years, everything looks good. I think the Antec 480watter should be good enough to power up just the CPU and GCARD....

The 8pin secondary mobo PSU connector only has the one on there...says in the manual that all 8 are for 240v stability?

Any suggestions here that I have not tried, or do you think I have a DOA MOBO? Christ, my luck on electronics has been crap the past year...stuff gets old...

thanks

I've heard a number of different people report problems with the Wolfdale on the IP35-E, IP35, and IP35 Pro.

my system did that same thing, its not recognizing the 45nm cpu yet

Which one did you use Jared? I just downloaded the m630a15 bios...looks like a build date of 1-11-2008

is that the one you used?

Oh, and thanks guys...my friend has an e6550...
