just installed my new motherboard(asus a7v8x) with the amd athlon 2400.
i've also got an old geforce 2 vidoe card in there, and i had a linksys ethernet card in, but took it out...

well. the comptuer started up perfectly... then after loading in the new drivers, (usb drivers were the last to load in) i restarted..
only to find a blank screen. you could hear and see the machine was running, but no screen.. it seems like its in a sleep mode.. after, taking out the agp card, and putting in a pci video card, as well as taking out the nic card i had, i'm in windows now... but still running in safe mode.. anyone know whats up?

I had the same problem.

I set my "Primary VGA card" to AGP, then flashed the BIOS to version 1.007 and it works fine.

Version 1005 and 6 had a bug that if it detected a 2200+ and above it would hang sometimes. I recommend flashing, if you already have, then change the VGA card to AGP, if it still dont work, you're guess is as good as mine :\
