First thing, Do you have any idea how to overclock? If not then I would suggest reading hte basics on the chip you got. http://xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core2duo-e6420_11.html#sect0
That site helped me OC my 6420 to 2.9 then when I bought an Freezer 7 pro I oc'd to 3.2

Im not sure what card you have but If I were you I would change the FSB To 350 and test for an hour with TAT if you have good temps then try 370 and test for temp with TAT and orthos if you wish. Also dont go to 370 if you dont have good RAM. Good rma doesnt mean having kickass brands just make sure that you read reveiws of the mram you bought and look for any mention of OC'ing with them.

yeah the ram has great reviews and reviews of it working perfectly with my specific board. I am basic on overclocking. I oc'ed my pd820 to 3.4ghz on stock vcore and stock cooling and had great temps of around 44c idle and 55-60 load. So Im just basic on it. But i dont want to set the ram timings to a bad setting or setup the fsb and ram divider wrong or anything like that. Because this is all the funds i had for a college setup. (will be using quadro fx 4500) in college. So I just want to have a stable setup for the entire year.

Ok sounds good. Like I sad I would go to a FPS of 350 at stock voltages. Then slowely go up from there. you should be able to hit 370 just fine. I am unabel to OC ram if I OC my CPU first so my mobo auto sets my timing's to 1:1, your should do the same. Just use CPUz and TAT for now until you have time do do a 6 hour orthos.
