New SETI beta 2.76 released

Fingers, Are you in this for just your stats?
Or the science? If you are going to run the Beta client, you should ALWAYS run the newest one.
What if 2.7 is missing something? What if you processed a unit with THE signal, and 2.70 missed it?
IMHO you should either use 2.4 or the newest beta available.

I agree on using the newer client, and it doesn't appear to be that much slower.

Every once in awhile I would get a wu that would take twice as long with v2.70 does anyone know if this is still happening with the newer betas? I quit using the beta after I tried v2.70 and got some long wu's.

All of this won't matter for long. I'd guess when v3.0 comes out they'll stop taking results from the old clients pretty quick. Then it will be a moot point anyway.🙂

i'm not in it just for the stats, but i never looked at it that way, i was looking at it as possibly faster = more WU's and more searching for ET.

blade_47 yes that does happen, if you have a WU with a gaussian, triplet, or pulse, there is quite a bit more work that is done.

Aprox plain WU = 1.5Teraflops
Gaussian = 3.2Teraflops
Pluse or triplet = 2.4Teraflops
