nice site though.
oh yeah... and it picks up my site... while google doesn't.

i've requested to be added to google list long time ago... but nothing has been done to it.
To get listed in Google, you have to have at least one site pointing to you or they won't rank your site. It doesn't matter how many links you have pointing out from your site, you need to get links pointing to your site; at least one or two.
If you can get your site listed in the Open Directory Project (dmoz.org), Google places a lot of relevance on their listings. A listing in OPD pretty much guarantees being ranked in Google. The placement of your ranking in Google will depend upon your content and how many other sites are competing under the same keywords you are using.
Edit: BTW, getting listed in ODP is not particularly easy but it is not that difficult. If you're not familiar, ODP is a directory whose listings are reviewed by human volunteers. All sites submitted are reviewed by the editor in charge of that category and then approved and included or not, it's up to the editor. To get listed, you must first find the proper category for your site and then submit it using the link posted there. Assuming you are in the right category, it can then take days, weeks or months to get listed, depending on how often the editor reviews new sites.
