new Seagate 200gb SATA - win2k only detects 130gb.

As title said. brand new 200gb seagate SATA HD is only detected as a 130gb by win2k. however the bios sees the full 200gb so it must be a driver or windows. please help. thanks

no i have not. just finish installing from the disk. i will do sp4 now. is that the problem?

disk management shows a 128 gb disk. i made a 30gb partition for c:. there are 90 gb of unpartitioned space.

that worked! well sort of. its now reported at 186 gb. i understand that they usually round up. is this the normal size for a 200gb.

Sounds about right, take 200,000,000 bytes, divide by 1024, then divide by 1024 and it comes out ~190.
