I'm surprised by this. Generally ginger is considered to be good for the stomach.

If anyone ever makes it up to the Traverse City, Michigan area there is a local soda company that makes a fantastic ginger soda. It burns a little going down the ginger is so strong. Northwoods Wild Ginger. It's also only like 55 calories per bottle if a recall correctly.

I have horrible frequent heartburn, indigestion, etc and long ago noticed that ginger-anything really flares it up. Perhaps it's IBS or an unknown allergy, but I don't particularly avoid any kind of food (certainly not giving up wheat gluten!).

I doubt the ginger itself is the cause, usually it's mixed with all manner of things. I would posit that it's those ingredients causing the issue.

The all natural ginger snaps from Trader Joes gave me worse heartburn than I have ever had. I thought it was a fluke and had more weeks later and it happened again. Ginger ale does it I a lesser degree, but it's still bad enough that I can't sleep and have to stop talking mid-sentence until the pain goes back down (flares). Unless I am allergic to sugar, it's probably the ginger.

picked up some bundaberg at cost plus importers, +1.

nice zing, decent amount of heat, very satisfying. not quite as nose burning as reed's ginger beer, but since i cant get that anymore bundaberg will be my go to.

I like bundabergs a lot. I can't find Schweppes dark.

How is that pronounced anyway? Schweppeeeeees or more like steps?

i suddenly have a reason to go to fresh market

This is even better. Best Ginger Ale around. Fresh Market sell this.

I bought a dozen cans earlier this week. I opened one, and it's still unfinished as I couldn't appreciate the taste...for me it's really not very good at all, more like a more syrupy-sweet version of regular ginger ale.

Vernors is definitely better. Also, if you'd like to try a nice ginger beer BEER, give Crabby's a go. It's made in Britain, and has a very nice gingery flavor, like Jamaican Ginger Beer.

Never seen this before. And I didn't realize Vernor's was so strong. To me, Seagrams, Vernors, and Canada Dry taste more or less the same. I mean, I'd have to have glasses of them right next to each other and take a sip one right after the other to know they tasted different. I'll have to remember to look for this stuff next time I get groceries.
