New SBLive Win2K drivers

(but not LiveWare 3 for Win2K)...
Has anyone downloaded the new SBLive Win2K drivers mentioned in the Anandtech webnews (originally mentioned on eclectic.com)?

How good are they? Do they work? And are the MS certified drivers or what? I don't really want to f*** up Win2K...

...thanks

you can always delete them... that's the beauty of win 2K... you can truly clean things out if a driver doesn't work. I downloaded but have not installed... will post an update when I get home from work.

I have them installed. They have the EAX/DirectSound 3D support, and they haven't crashed yet, but the DirectSound output module in Winamp is still borked. Oh well. Maybe it's a Winamp problem and not a driver problem.

tazdevl while W2k does a great job replacing drivers I don't think it truly forgets that a driver has been installed.

I've found mentions on my registry of old devices that I thought had been completetly deleted. I found that out when a new program asked me which of two devices I wanted to use. They both had been deleted weeks and months before.

So I'm now looking towards a new install.

I have one small problem with the new driver (same problem I had with the Liveware 2k). I have an ATI AIW 128 pro and when I watch TV, it has a volume on the TV window that controls "Line in". Both the Liveware 2k and the Liveware3k standalone driver make it control the "CD audio". Because of this, I can no longer control the volume with my TV tuner software. This is a pain in the ass when you are switching stations.

Anybody know how to fix this?
