NEW Saturn Vue Green Line numbers.

Vette73

Lifer
Saturn will announce the
official EPA fuel economy ratings for the all-new 2008 Saturn Vue Green Line
hybrid sport-utility tomorrow. A reliable source tells SaturnFans.com
that Saturn will reveal that the new Vue will get up to 25 miles per
gallon (MPG) in the city and 32 MPG on the highway ? better than any
other sport-utility in the industry.

Not only did Saturn boost the new Vue's MPG by over 10% compared to
last year's hybrid Vue (after adjusting the '07 figures using the new EPA
calculations), the numbers are reportedly 27% better than non-hybrid,
4-cylinder versions of the 2008 Saturn Vue. The new Green Line's
reported combined city/highway fuel economy of 28 MPG handily will handily
best the ratings for both the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV-4.

Just saw that. Also the Saturn Green line is much cheaper then the other hybrids out there so it pays for itself very quickly.

'08 Saturn Vue I-4:

'08 Saturn Vue Hybrid (BAS)

25city/32hwy

Looks like it's worth it to me.

FWIW, next years two-mode hybrid will be far better than this.

LOL. Better gas mileage is better gas mileage. And this system has less expensive parts than a more traditional hybrid. It wins on all counts.

Yep it does not take 10 years or how ever many miles to pay it back. So low price and better gas milage. Seems like a win win to me as well.

The Saturn Aura also has the same Hybrid option.

Funny though, the smaller lighter Aura hybrid gets slightly less mileage city.

Or you could just buy a car and get the same mileage and way more power.

Then why get a SUV in the first place?

Vue = SUV, not car.

IMO an SUV is not necessary for 95% of the population. They don't take them offroad... A minivan is a superior people hauler and gets better mileage doing it. Although it would be better to have an SUV if you tow regularly and need to haul people at the same time... but very little people actually do that...

These crossover vehicles seem to have the towing capacity of a regular minivan anyways, but are beaten in every other practicality category... I don't really see a positive unless the person wants the car just to have that particular car which I'd say most of the people that buy them end up doing...

Why do people keep thinking that? Mini-vans used to be 4 cyls a lot but most have large V6's now. I can't think of any Mini-vans that come with 4cyls anymore. Most minavans get milage about on par with small SUVs like the Rav4, Vue, etc... if not worse.

Also SUVs are better for hauling things around, mini vans people. Me and my wife use our Saab as our default SUV since the Corvette does not haul much. We had a Rav4 but got rid of it for the Vette.

Definitely impressive.

I can't determine if I actually like the look of this thing yet. Sometimes I think it looks good...and then I catch a glimpse of it at another angle and just don't like it. Same goes for the new Accord.

How's Saturn's fit and finish these days? Last time I checked, Consumer Reports rated them pretty far down the list along with Pontiac and quite a few other GM makes...but then again, they could be biased towards imports...

I don't know about you, but every minivan I've been in has more interior room than a comparable MPG SUV or crossover...

CR is rubbish. Their reviews and ratings are opinions of CR readers and their staff, they are NOT scientific.

I have not driven the Vue yet but the Aura is real nice. Saturn is not the old Saturn people think of.
