New Satellite: original battery works, but not others..

I'm baffled.
C75D-B7300
Couple weeks old, works perfectly on the original battery.

Bought three, count em, three, highly rated aftermarket replacment
batteries, none of them work. Orange blinking light, will not boot up,
power brick plugged in makes no difference.

So I ordered a fairly overpriced genuine replacement direct from
Toshiba. Exact same thing.

Laptop still works perfectly on the original battery.

I've tried the remove battery, hold down power button "reset" bit, and none of the windows stuff applies since it will not boot. Toshiba tech support was tier 1 and baffled, suggested I charge it three hours and call back, which I'm doing even though I'm pretty sure it's not charging. They are going to want to send me a (fourth) battery, but I just can't believe it's a coincidence that three good aftermarkets did the same thing this genuine one is doing.
The only thing I can figure is they are supplying the wrong battery somehow, though I double checked the PN and it's what Toshiba says fits this model laptop, but its' not a PN match for what came in it.

WTH over?

So, if Toshiba is calling the wrong battery the replacement for this model, I suppose it does stand to reason that "aftermarket" batteries are suffering the same issue, especially if the battery is for an older model and this one has some undisclosed change. I mean, obviously the battery fits, so there has to be some sort of identity firmware that is not allowing either to work.

The firmware stuff was my first guess on the aftermarket ones. I was pretty annoyed with the idea but decided to suck it up rather than go through the rigamarole of finding another computer I liked. The stinking overpriced OE battery STILL not working really ticks me off. Wonder how I convince them it's wrong...

I suppose you would want to get in touch with someone who had access to said parts.

Yeah, like their help desk people have access to parts they sell, lol.

It's a possibility though. I deal with Toshiba people from time to time (they are just rebranded IBM people) and their second level does pretty well (they should since Toshiba charges outrageously for them), but I don't know what their computer people do.

I see you said "but its' not a PN match for what came in it". Can you find replacements under the part # that is now working? After you have gone this far (4 batteries) it might be worth the price just to see if that part # works and to know what is going on.

Perhaps you could even charge Toshiba for a solution to this problem, but that's a hell of a stretch. If it works and you start a thread about "toshiba model xxx battery bad part #" at least the end users that use a search engine will know what to do.

I'll post the PN's in a bit, but no I can't find the exact PN it came with listed anywhere other than in the "compatible with" section. The laptop model number is listed for the one I have from them now on there site.

Is the orig being 10.8v and the replacement being 11.1v a hint? lol
C75D-B7300 is the model number of the lappy if anyone wants to sleuth.

Stock PN is PA5109U-1BRS

PA5110U-1BRS from Toshiba don't work.

Those three didn't either.

Same actual PN on the battery they have showing as the 3rd one I tried (which was I think genuine Toshiba).

The first two list the actual PA5109U-1BRS in the compatibility list.

If Toshiba can't resolve this I think I'm just going to return it.
The more I think about it the more annoyed I get.

This jerkoff on tech support just asked me why I needed another battery if the original one worked fine...........

really?

Aaaannnd the grand solution is he gave me the number to sales so I could get a refund on the battery. They have no idea and aren't interested in pursuing it since it works with the original battery.

Suck my ass Toshiba. Back to best buy we go.

That's what I would do. That is ridiculous.

Had the same issue with a Dell E7440 Ultrabook. But, Dell had replaced the battery 3 times and each of their replacement batteries had the same orange blinking light and would not charge. We had even had the Motherboard swapped out, and the same issue. It was determined to be an issue with the power connector, and they did an exchange for another laptop. They never did resolve the issue, and we went through 2 motherboards and 3 Genuine batteries.

I sent it back to them, on my dime, but they did promptly refund it.
That's about all they did right sadly.

Have a few issues with the HP I bought to replace it, but I was able to buy a new HP
battery on ebay for $60 or so and it works perfectly.
