New SATA WD drive not seen in XP

I just bought a new Western Digital drive but I can't this box to recognize it. I had a shunt on 5-6 to I think force it to SATA 1 but it is still not seen. Any ideas???? I am trying to put it in a Asus A8V motherboard.

Is it showing in bios?if it is then go into computer management>disk management and check if its there

Nope the drive is not seen in te BIOS on either of my Asus A8V boards. It must be something about these boards.
