Hi, I just bought a new 36gig raptor for my system and a very stable OC I had on my 7200rpm hitachi IDE drive is no longer stable with with the new drive.

I have an MSI K8N neo 2 plat, and when I switch out to my old HD, it runs just fine and passes stability tests great. Now, I can't run Prime95 for more than 5 minutes if it even boots at all. I read in another post here about someone who was using slot 3 and 4 for thier OC'd system. I tried switching the cable to port #3 from port #1, and I am still having problems although not as bad. I have updated to the newest NF3 drivers on the MSI website and am using BIOS 1.4

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My OC is as follows:
240X11.5 on an FX-55, MSI K8N neo2 plat, OCZ plat rev 2 in slots 1/2.
That OC is perfectly stable when I switch to my old drive but is unstable on my new one.

I have a feeling that my 36gig raptors are actualy affecting my oveclocks as well. Once I overclock high enough, I start getting hard drive corruption, or windows won't boot, while in a differant system without the raptors, I seem to get higher stable overclocks. I've used mem dividers and have run memtest to eliminate the ram as my overclocking bottle neck, and temps aren't the problem with water cooling, so perhaps somehow the raptors really are my limiting factor..

Maybe so. Anyone with these drives or my board that can say definitively?
