I ordered a Samsung 171S from Dell a few weeks ago and it finally came yesterday. I set it up and for some reason it won't power up. The power light doesn't even come on. I tried it with and without it connected to my computer (even with the computer on). I know it's getting power because I can hear a very faint buzz coming from it if I put my ear right next to it. Am I missing something or is it just DOA? I looked for some alternate power switch (like on an ATX PS) but I could not find one.

I think you need to exchange it and send the exchange over to me ;)

Seriously, how is the packaging? Was the box wet at all? Just call up Dell and ask them what to do.

There is nothing wrong with the box. No dents, holes, etc.

Unlike some LCD's I've seen it does NOT have an external power brick. The power cord plugs directly into the LCD. (just like on a CRT monitor)
