Apple is a company that does not embrace technology until it is ready for the masses. 4G is simply not ready for prime time. It's not available in every market and battery life is abysmal when using it.

They'll embrace it when it's ready and when they do they'll get it right. The 4G phones out there now just have it to include a bullet in their specs. It's not a practical technology ATM.

When Apple makes a phone with 4G it will be Magical and Unique because it is Apple powered 4G and nobody else does it right because they are not Apple. They will tack on an Amazing never-seen-before feature that they copied from some poor sap who tried to publish it to the app store that has been available on Android for a year. They will tack on an Apple interface and tell consumers that it is new and better than everything else because it uses artificial intelligence, magic and wait for it..... STEVE JOBS had something to do with this app and you need to buy this in memory of your dead god.

Needless to say the sheep mobs will eat it up.

I've had a bit of an anti Samsung bias, but their latest phones are pretty sweet, the Galaxy Nexus is pretty slick.

Apple is in a tough position as they don't spit out phones every 3 months with the newest tech like Samsung has been doing. The competition certainly keeps the drama up :D For my own use, I got tired of the constant upgrading, rooting and custom roms and Android phone of the quarter, gave up and got a used iP4, love the way it feels and looks too, will likely upgrade to the next iPhone when it comes out, if they can get a handle on LTE and battery life issues.

The commercial is pretty damn good, even though I hate to admit it... :D

Just because a new phone comes out doesn't mean you have to buy it. Until about three months ago I was using the original Droid. Other than running out of application space it did fine. I'll likely use my Bionic for another year and a half.

My coworker has an Iphone 4, there's certainly nothing wrong with it. But, I don't think it does anything especially well compared to Android either. But as I said earlier, I like having the options that Android phones allow. With Iphone your options are old phones or one newer phone that has very few options (not everyone is happy with the smaller display, some people are willing to sacrifice battery life for to ability to turn on 4G, etc.)

Yep, some idiots are like this. I got the 4s knowing that 3G was slower than 4G and knowing that it had a smaller screen, and I don't see the need to paint either of these downsides as some kind of counterinuitive advantage. I see my phone as a communication tool, and it just seemed like the iphone worked best at the basic communication functions: Calling, texting, emailing, checking/posting to facebook and twitter, and sharing photos. The other stuff I do with my phone: watching youtube videos, listenting to pandora, playing chess, and waching NHL games would absolutely be better with a bigger screen and 4G, but I see those as secondary functions. I hope the next iPhone does have a bigger screen and 4G.
