4g or not, it is about having choices. you have a choice to use blazing fast 4g and drain the battery. and you still have a choice to go to any website you want, including Flash sites.

with apple, there are no choices because apple made all the choices for you.

Sometimes that's a good thing though. Most people should not be able to choose very technical things about their phones as they are not capable of making the choice. For the rest of us there's jailbreaking.

Two things:

1) Samsung phones look great but most of them run shitty android
2) I preordered my 4s and got it on release day. I didn't stand in a line...

Also the people touting 4G you do realize it's available in very small markets. Also the chipsets such causing battery life to suffer.

Lol. I think I saw you in the commercial. You were the Indian dude in line, right? They didn't show the shoes he was wearing so I couldn't confirm but I'm pretty sure that was you.

My daughter wanted an iPhone for Christmas, but as a tech expert, I just couldn't do it. I think Macbooks are fantastic laptops, I like the Apple TV, I even think the iPod Touch is pretty cool, but they dropped the ball with the iPhone 4s.

- smaller screens are out of style
- no 4G means you're stuck with a last gen phone for 2 years
- no style or design improvements other than fixing the antenna bug and "Siri"...which could technically be added to any iPhone.

Just can't do it.

I got her a Razr instead from the Amazon .01 sale. I think she'll be happy, and it's a freakin' sweet looking phone.

Very small markets? Are you shitting me? For T-Mobile... hardly the best network available, there is 4G is damn near 100 major cities. I'm sure Verizon has that much already if not more. Very small markets... pfft.

I own a Galaxy S2 and an Iphone 4s. The iPhone runs nice.... but the Samsung runs nice as well. They are obviously different, but from a design standpoint, it's clear that Samsung is 100x better. And that is Apple's forte, design quality. Their products usually look the best, but the are losing that battle in the cell market.

Yeah, Verizon is going gangbusters with 4G expansion. Most major cities on the east coast and midwest are now covered. They're working on the west coast in the next few months:

Two years? I bought an iPhone 3GS on launch day. I was able to upgrade to an iPhone 4 on launch day. I was able to upgrade an iPhone 4S on November 1.

As long as your bill is over a certain amount per month, you can get yearly upgrades from AT&T. My wife has an iPhone 4 and I have an iPhone 4S (both with unlimited data) and our bill is $120/month after employee discount.

We have Verizon. Upgrades are every 20 months. ATT service is terrible in our area.

Well...

I live in a city with 4G. It's available in boston all the way up to Salem NH. I would not say it is only in small markets.

Also, does that phone come in white or did she use a skin? My fiancee loves white phones.

I have a mytouch 4g, I like it, but i am starting to see the processor get bogged down.

Great commercial.

Especially the "creative" part. :D

I'd much rather buy something Samsung made in Korea than some cheap fucking Chinese shit. Granted the quality/feel of the iphone is definitely good but the fact that they make all this shit in the same place (foxconn) is nuts.

Speaking of nuts when you guys keep yours next to yours and that Chinese li-poly battery goes into hyper spontaneous combustion converting you into a girl think about what creative really means. Jobs is/was a genius and knew exactly what he was doing.

What does that have to do with the price of Chinese eggs?
I don't know!
I own HTC Vivid, Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, all iphones from 8GB 2G through 64GB 4S (both white and black, waiting for pink then I may switch back over but actually Chrysler blue is more my style)...

Oh and 4G LTE fucking rocks. How does 52mbps down, 19 up sound? Yeah I know I'm probably the only one rocking it now but that's driving around. It's like having Fios in your hand flapping (not fapping) in the wind...

I think the iphone is manufactured in Brazil now?

My sister-in-law did that to my niece last year. The kid wanted an iPhone 4 but she got an Evo.

On Christmas my niece was like, "Well, it's sort of like an iPhone." When I saw her again in March she had an iPhone 4. She said she couldn't deal with the Evo.

There is 4G where I live. Oh Wait, that is where you will be over Thanksgiving. :D Or maybe they only have it on the Collins Hill side.

Too bad Samsung has absolutely horrid resolution which is made worse by the bigger screen.

I have Evo 3D and while GSII is a faster phone, I couldn't give up the quarter-HD display. GSII's resolution is really behind the times.

iPhone 4S = 960 x 640
Evo 3D = 960 x 540
Galaxy SII = 800 x 480 (TINY and blocky)

I LOVE the pixel density of my phone- super crisp text & graphics on my daily browsing and media use.

haha.

I know that all of our execs here have had every flavour of droid, and all went with iphone 4/4s's.

Personally, the experience on the iphone is still superior to that of droid.

I'm a fanboy of neither. I think it's stupid to be so emotionally invested on a freakin' phone.

That being said, I wouldn't mind trying iPhone. But you can't talk as if they're on same footing.

Evo 3D cost me $150, exactly half that of iPhone. And my monthly bill is about $15-20 cheaper too.

If I buy a $60K car instead of $30K, it better be fucking better.

Hah. That's a damn good ad. 4g is meaningless to me though. 3g is spotty where I live, and I don't go into any major cities enough to matter. I've seen those samsung phones, and they are way more pleasing to the eye than any current iphone. I'm betting the iphone 5 is going to change that though

The resolution isn't that big of a deal guys, it's a damn phone. Everyone would love a 4.5" 1920x1080 display but it ain't happening yet...

One thing I agree with when it comes to Exchange users. The built in Android Exchange Sync client sucks. No subfolder support! WTFF?! I mean seriously I have to spend $20 for touchdown just so I have subfolders? That's kind of pathetic.

Yes the battery life is terrible but you're carrying around practically a notebook with a small screen. I originally thought AMOLED was too rich but after using the vivid and skyrocket side by side the vivid is anything but. I do like the FM tuner in the vivid though. Call me a dummy but FM is nice when you're in places where there's NO service but you can still listen to (duh) radio...

The bulk of the vivid in an otterbox is about the same as the skyrocket with a battery case which doubles the battery life.

This thing won't spiderweb either if dropped in a parking lot when not in a case like the iphone will. Been there, done that. Only feeling can be worse is dropping a 20 year old bottle of Scotch...

Very true.

I rely on my phone a LOT, so having it function every time is what I need...and with all the apps I have invested in the iphone, it's irreplacible right now.

I had played with some of the recent droid phones, since we generally get them in every so often, and I love the open ness, but IMO, the hardware isn't there yet...it always feels kind of glitchy, and not so pretty, haha.

Now Windows phones, I just don't like the feel of the OS yet..i'll have to play with them more, if I was to consider a new phone.

Either way, I am all for competition, I feel like it pushes the other vendors. Droid and Windows phone OS has a place, I just hope they ramp up the hardware to play nice.

Don't even get me started on a windows phone...

Tried using it and felt it was really clunky. Like putting on scuba gear and told to run a marathon. Did not like it at all. I'd go back to my old Blackberry and BES servers before using a windows phone. D:
