Honestly almost skipped over this because of the thread title, really a *lot* more things then just the KLP rumors.

Google starting up their own streaming service, Nexus certification available to *any* phone that matches certain criteria, the new skinning implementation, really some big changes are listed on this rumor post. Of course, they all are rumors, and really most of them kind of sound close to to good to be true, but the streaming service makes a whole lot of sense given the Nexus Q(which doesn't make a lot of sense without a streaming service to go with it).

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Verizon get the galaxy nexus before anyone else and was the first to get ICS?

Yup. They also officially pushed out Jellybean about 1 month after the GSM Nexus received it(Though jellybean was available from Google for the VZW Nexus from the start the whole time).

Can you name any cell off the top of your head that has jellybean?

I mean I have a brand new gs3 and its using ICS

I'm pretty sure Verizon will get the next nexus before anyone else also

Your hating on Verizon when Google released jellybean source to all at the same time and only what 2% of the android market is on jellybean.

I don't see sprint, att and T-Mobile pushing jellybean to any phones

International Note 2.

That is a new cell and its not even out in the USA where Verizon is.I see hate on Verizon when no one else is pushing jellybean to anything.

And the note 2 and nexus are the 2% lol

Sprint had its Galaxy Nexus updated almost three weeks before Vrizon did. Granted, they're both like two months later than the unlocked version.

And the only Nexus Verizon has ever "gotten" is the Galaxy Nexus. So I'm not going to take one device release to say that Verizon is the definitive Nexus carrier. If anything, that title belongs to TMobile, which released the G1, the very first US android phone, the launch carrier of the Nexus One, and the launch partner for the Nexus S. if anything, Google has a better track record of working with TMobile than they do Verizon. And I'm sure Verizon's handling of the Galaxy Nexus (delaying the release, pulling official Google Wallet support, and delaying the Jelly Bean update) haven't really weighed to favorably in Google's opinion of Verizon.

The whole point of this is to make it so that new updates aren't delayed for months and months. So that only a new OS version isn't 1.8% 4 months after a new OS release. iOS 6 has been out 2 weeks and is pushing 25% adoption rate. People will upgrade when given the ability. They just don't really have it on Android right now.

I'm really interested in this though. I'm actually fairly tempted to take the iPhone 5 back and see how this plays out. I'd just have to get a dumb phone to use in the meantime since I ditched the GNex.

I don't think I explained it right.I know the nexus got its update late and I had a nexus the day it was out for Verizon.

What I ment to say was jellybean is only out for the nexus and no maker or carrier is pushing the new iOS to other cells.

You should probably clarify again. Manufacturers are pushing JB upgrades out. US carriers are holding them back.

Yeah and its all verizons fault right

Lg optomus g witch is by far the most power full android cell has ICS on it

Gs3,one x and every other top dig android cell other than a nexus have ICS still

Did anyone ever think that Verizon had to tweak its jellybean update because it was the only nexus using lte

I specified "US carriers". I did not single out Verizon.

And Sprint's Galaxy Nexus has LTE.

Sprint's Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S both have had Jelly Bean.

Sprint Nexus S, Sprint Galaxy Nexus, T-Mobile Nexus S, International Nexus S, and the International Galaxy Nexus all got the Jelly Bean update before Verizon's model did.
What exactly is your point again?

Time to move the goalposts!

Argument was: verizon gets JB first!

Argument now: verizon gets JB last, but it's not Verizon's fault, it's because of LTE!

Personally I find it unlikely that Verizon will get the next Nexus first, but it could happen, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Fuck this is dissapointing.

and there will be games that only work on Nexus devices.

Edit: Hopefully, they will all be garbage and not worth playing. Only tech-savvy people buy Nexuses. I know exactly one person with one. Everybody else has a Samsung Galaxy S/2/3 variant or some other random low-end Android phone.

That's not a valid excuse either.
Sprint's Galaxy Nexus also has LTE and got the Jelly Bean update before Verizon's model did

Google will never have direct control of CDMA Nexus devices because of proprietary cellular firmware. Just avoid them all together.
