No, no one died. Its not a big deal. No, these threads are not annoying. No these threads do not litter the database with extra work or the pipes with extra worthless content wasting bandwidth. No, no one spent a lot of time and effort creating something many people just ignore. Yes, kindly asking someone to include a small little link in their sig for asking a question that hasnt been asked enough times (40028376 is enough, but the 40028375 times "NTFS or FAT32" has been asked isnt quite enough) is a little extreme, what next? Make people think or thank?! And yes, I should sit here ignoring someone that needs help. The thread was basically a joke, brought on by frustration of newbies and old timers alike ignoring (or forgetting about) the FAQs. In these threads that are answered by the FAQs where the user ignored or forgot about them, I will start asking the original poster to create a link in their sigs. It obviously wont be a demand, since I carry no weight here, but a polite request to help other users. I have been much more lenient of newbies, and usually check how long they have been here and their post count to determine how "hot" my posts should be. I usually include links to the FAQ section or the specific FAQ if the user is fairly new. All in all the thread was supposed to call attention to the FAQs in the hopes that newer users (and old users whose memory is fading 😉) will use them more often.

You'll notice that my sig had a link to the FAQ's at the time I wrote that 😉
