New router / jerky internet scrolling

I just installed a new belkin wireless g router on my desktop pc. Since then, when scrolling down or across webpages with the slider bars / page up-down / or mouse wheel, the page repeatedly freezes for about 2 seconds and then jumps to catch up to the last input. On very long pages, it will even freeze up longer. My connection is 6meg and this is happening indefinitely even after the page is done loading.

No other changes have been made to the system and all was smooth before, I would assume the router is causing it. Not sure if this is relevant but the belkin tech had to have me create a clone connection during setup to get it working.

Any opinions? Can a router cause such behavior? This will soon be driving me nuts.

Once a static web page is downloaded, there is no interaction between the computer and a router, until a new request is made.

I don't know what a 'clone connection' is.

Does it mean using the MAC address of your computer for your routers MAC address?

It could be that the change in MAC address is affecting your browser somehow. I don't know why though. I would start out by trying a comp restart, or even restating the router. I would also try using a different web browser.
