new router for my house

i currently own buffalo products however during a recent move, im concerned they have been damaged and not as functional (since i now get very poor reception even when within 10 feet). I have 3 computers, a network printer (connected by a bridge), and a wii. Im considering purchasing a new router and was curious as to what is considered best in particular for range. i do plan to sling or hava tv to the computers. i would consider changing the network cards in my computers to N but dont know if that is of much value since the wii is G.

Flash or flash it with DD_WRT and check their performance (wasting money is rarly a cure for anything)..

thanks for the suggestion
i havent flashed to dd wrt yet since im not sure of any benefit worth the work since with buffalo products u cant just use the firmware update

does dd wrt improve performance in particular range?

Probably Not, but 10 feet is Not what the Buffalo can do.

If the Radio of the device is physically damaged there is Nothing you can do about it but to get new.

However if it is firmware related Flashing it with DD-WRT might help.

If your finger are itchy to spend $$, go a head, it is good for the economy.

Otherwise as an Enthusiasts One takes the technological route.
