New router for Comcast

Hi there,

I was wondering what would be a good router for Comcast? Also does Comcast have wifi? Any help is greatly appreaciated. Thanks in advance.

Renting modems / routers from a cable company seems like such a waste too me...
Usually, any DOCSIS 3 cable modem & whatever router you want is the way to go. You just have to read up to see if that particular cable modem is supported.
Then splurge on a good wireless router. (Asus RT-N66U or whatever)

They do have a modem/wireless router but it is not reliable. Get a modem from them and buy a reliable router to save yourself from hassles.

Modem/Router combo's are called "Gateways".

there's the support device list.

My brother rented an Arris non-telephony Gateway from Comcast for a year. they're not hardcore users, but they didn't have any problems...believe me, they would've told me if there were problems 😛
