*New* RivaTuner now available

Sounds like you can change lower level settings for both cards when running an SLI or Crossfire setup now. If so, that's very cool. Kind of wish I had that ability when I was experimenting with trying to SLI two unlocked 6200s 😛

hey avalon, how did the experiment go with the sli'ed 6200s (i have this image in my mind that you modded them to become 6600s but i dont know if thats true)?

IIRC some of them can have pipes enabled to become essentially 6600 cards. I'm thinking the non TC models without a bridge chip.

This version shows the diabled stream processor block. I tried enabling it on my 8800GTS but didn't do anything. I wonder if the processors are actually defective or just disabled.

It was very buggy because I couldn't get it to completely work. At the time there was no way to flash the cards to unlock them, but I flashed to change their deviceID to 6600 cards. That way it let me soft-SLI them on my SLI-D board. Only problem was at the time, Rivatuner would only see one card, and even then, when I had two cards plugged into my system, the unlocking process wouldn't even stick for just the one card.

I was able to run some benchmarks with the cards locked (essentially two 4 pipeline 6600s), and while the framerates were way up as opposed to a single locked 6200, it was about the same as a single unlocked 6200. However, games like FEAR were stuttering like crazy, and a couple other games were artifacting like mad.

So I scrapped the project. Would have been cool if this version of Rivatuner let me unlock both cards individually. I bet it'd work then 😀
