New rig

I had posted a thread up in the Video forum but i came here regarding chipsets. Someone recommended the Opteron 146 and i was wondering if that would really be better than a Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego core. What i mainly use my computer for is gaming, than second would be multiple websites open(tabbed browsing in firefox) and some music as well as instant messengers. Still stuck in a pickle

The 146 is clocked 200MHz lower than the 3700+, but it makes up for that in overclocking. Good luck finding one, though.

If you multitask, I'd suggest getting the Opteron 165 or an A64 X2.

But for only gaming, a single core processor will suffice.
