First off, I'd like to say hello, this is my first post, and I'd like to thank you all in advance for any help.

Ok, I have a new rig I'm setting up, XP2400+, MSI K792 mobo, GF4 Ti4200 64meg GFX, 512 DDR....

ANYWAY, I have everything connected, and when I start the computer, it starts fine, and I go into the BIOS, change the date, time, simple stuff etc. BUT, it's saying my CPU is an XP1800+. Even then, that is the least of my concerns.... When I save an exit the BIOS, it restarts the computer, and once I get past the MSI startup screen, it says

"Fasttrac BIOS v.xxxxx

etc etc No BIOS installed"

Then it lets me insert a system disk in, but all I have is a DOS system disk, and I really don't know what to do with it...

any ideas/suggestions are welcome appreciated

According to my manual, the FSB jumper is set correctly, at the 133/166 FSB setting.

Also, after I last saved the BIOS, the monitor is not detecting a computer when I turn the computer on, and, I cannot turn off the computer with the power button, I can only reset the computer or turn it off from the powersource.

"Fasttrac BIOS v.xxxxx...........etc etc No BIOS installed"
if your not using the raid controller, then disable in BIOS.....that would be a normal message, not an error, that would display during boot-up if you have no drives hooked up to that controller.

I just built a new rig

Thermaltake xaser 3 1000c
Giga-byte ga-7nnxp (nforce2)
Athlon xp 2500+ Barton
OCZ 2x256 pc3200
an old geforce2 gts 32mb

I'm having the same problem as you. I boot the computer and I get no bios beeps and no display onscreen.
If anyone out there has built a similar system your help would be great. Thanks
